In-freakin-credible! I was so pumped after the ending of Contagious! I honestly couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I've read both books now and I was afraid the second might be a let down as sequels sometimes are. I mean, how could you outdo infected?? It was a read beyond words. I finished Infected a few days ago, and I must say, I was greatly impressed with the work. I thought it was going to be this book that's a hybrid of Dreamcatcher—since Sigler is influenced by Stephen King—and Resident Evil. Hell, the hatchlings remind me of Las Plagas from Resident Evil 4. I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that it wasn't a zombie book; it was my first assumption. But I purchased the book anyway, read it, and I now have a new author to read, and a new author to call as an influence.

I purchased Contagious Tuesday, and the freakiest thing happened. I was at Borders because that's where it's at—Barnes and Noble is okay, but Borders is easier to navigate. I found Contagious in the horror section, saw it was from Scott Sigler, and I had to read the jacket. It's a sequel to Infected. Now the freakiest thing happened: Frank Sinatra was singing "I Got you Under my Skin" on the speaker.

Talk about your irony, or something.

I haven't caught any of Sigler's podcasts, but I'm definitely going to from now on.

I first heard of Infected when I saw an ad on Max Brooks' World War Z site. That was early last year, then right before Christmas I saw it in the bookstore and decided to check it out. I read through it twice in four days and wanted more. I then heard the sequel was to be released December 30th, great timing I thought. So I waited and grabbed the sole copy my bookstore got in. I've now read it twice as well and I have to say I want Pandemic!!! The story is so engaging, I'm just so sad at some of the great characters lost though... Keep it up!
