Just when I thought I knew what abyss he was leading me across, he knocked the bridge out from under ... I think I screamed the whole way down ... INFECTED is a marvel of gonzo, in-your-face, up-to-the-minute terror.”
—Lincoln Child, New York Times bestselling author of Deep Storm and Death Match

INFECTED SYNOPSES:
Perry Dawsey is 6-foot-5, 265 pounds of angry ex-linebacker. He knows all too well that if he doesn't control his quick temper, people get hurt. Through constant focus, he has locked his violent past away in the deep dungeons of his mind.

The infection changes everything.

Strange microscopic parasites tap into Perry's bloodstream like tiny little vampires. They start as bright orange blisters, but soon take the shape of triangular growths just beneath his skin. The "Triangles," as Perry calls them, try to control their host by manipulating hormone levels and flooding his body with neurotransmitters -- imbalances of which cause paranoia, schizophrenia and excessive aggression. As Perry begins a desperate battle to cut the Triangles out of his body before it's too late, his self-control dissolves into raging, murderous madness.

INFECTED REVIEWS:
"Part Stephen King, part Chuck Palahniuk, Infected blends science fiction and horror into a pulpy masterpiece of action, terror, and suspense. Three recommendations: don't read it at night, or just after you've eaten a full meal, or if you're weak of heart. You've been warned!"
James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of The Judas Strain and Black Order

“Sigler is the Richard Matheson of the 21st Century…smart and creepy, INFECTED is a flawless thinking-person’s thriller. Bravo to a bold new talent!”
—Jonathan Maberry, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Bad Moon Rising and Ghost Road Blues

"Horror mavens rejoice! INFECTED is a revelation -- a novel that lives up to its hype. From page one, the story of a mysterious smart-virus that turns its hosts into deadly drooling drones creeps up on a reader like the ratchet of a roller coaster climbing toward its inevitable crest. Sigler brings the folksy character detail of Stephen King, the conceptual panache of Clive Barker, and the oozing, shuddery pathologies of a David Cronenberg movie. Zombies, spies, conspiracies, and gallons of goo make this the fastest read in the west! Highest recommendation!"— Jay Bonansinga, National Bestselling author of SHATTERED, TWISTED, FROZEN, and THE SINKING OF THE EASTLAND

"Sigler has a unique talent for keeping readers on the edge of their seats; I absolutely had to know what was going to happen next. Infected is full of mayhem, action, and gore--and you won’t be able to put it down."
— Dave Wellington, author of 13 BULLETS and the MONSTER ISLAND trilogy

"Scott Sigler's Infected is a bucking pulp pony that throws you this way and that, and just when you think you've got your balance, that ole pony bucks the other way. All in all, one hell of an exhilarating ride, and highly recommended." —Joe R. Lansdale, World Horror Convention Grand Master and six-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Bubba Ho-Tep and Lost Echoes

I had the Infected wallpaper on my phone, and the "FEED US WE HUNGRY" ringtone.  I got a new phone today, and I need these things back!!  Where did they go?

First Scott Sigler book I've ever read

This is the first Scott Sigler book I've ever read. Im getting it tomorrow... i hope!

best book ive EVER read

well right now im finishing up contagious and i have to say its been AMAZING follow du phillips, margret montoya, and of course "scary" perry dawsey. i cant wait for pandemic to come out (but dont rush anything) and btw chealsea scares the s**t outta me xD just thought i should include that :P

Infected

I must admit i've been reading some forgetable books lately. but i found this in borders and the cover immediatly grabbed my attention. this book is almost suprisingly well written compared to the stuff i've read as of late. It's amazing how you combine such graphic scenes and such "vivid" launguage, yet render it almost emaculatly. congrats and i hope to get to contagious asap!

Infected

WOW! I checked this book out of the library yesterday, and just finished it! I couldn't put it down! You got me in trouble with my wife because I wouldn't come to bed last night dude! I've been reading SciFi for 30+ years now, since I started in grade school. This is one of the few books I've read that I couldn't put down (and the others were by some of the greats of SciFi, Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, and Stephen King)! I will be buying a copy of this and Contaigous for my personal collection as soon as I find them. I can't wait for more, and I'm pissed that the damn library is now closed for the day. Mad props man, and keep them coming!

Thanks,

Bill

I like it

Hi i just listened to chapter one of INFECTED. it sounds great so far. deffinately something i will download more of. i listened to this at work. i dont have headphones with me so luckely no one came into my lab whilst i was listening. all the gore may have needed explaining.

Wow...

I'm two-thirds of the way into Infected (via podcast), and I just wanted to throw some kudos your way.  First, after many unsuccessful attempts over the years trying to "listen" to a book, your reading has finally broken my failing streak.  I've actually laughed out loud -not only because of the story, but also due to the various characters you so entertainingly voice.  I have a feeling you might actually have been a spunky, suffer-no-fools Latina woman in one of your past lives.

On the other side of the coin, I've actually had to stop the podcast a few times until the heebie-jeebies lessened enough for me to continue.  I haven't had to set a book "down" like that since Pet Semetary back in the mid-80s!  Oh, and I'm torn between thinking how brilliant a move it was for you to "tag" oranges in such a memorable fashion, to cursing you six ways from Sunday over the whole thing.  I'll be stuck in the juice aisle until I can shake my new-found horror of orange peels, thankyouverymuch.  :::shudder:::

I truly look forward to reding more of your excellent creations, and to possibly meet you during your visit to DC this summer...what a whirlwind weekend that's set up to be, eh?

Until then, Cheers!

I need more Infected!

I listened to the Infected podcast a few months ago and was delighted to find it at my local bookstore(support local businesses!). I enjoyed the paper experience immensely but I do have one nitpick. The perspective of the other infected victims was absent. Podcasts don't necessarily translate well onto paper and cuts are made to the noveliztions. Couldn't there be a special expanded edition of Infected that included these scenes? Infected is definitely good enough to own two copies of and I can say the same for Contagious as well. I'm eagerly awaiting Pandemic and in the mean time will dive into The Rookie, since apparently the race that sent the triangles is featured in it.

Love ya,

Cynthia

This book is tangible proof that someone can be utterly derranged and yet can achieved literary excellence! Prepare yourself for some sleepless nights spent scratching at your skin and wondering whenever you see the word "triangle" if it has some hidden meaning. From qa02

I wish I could still eat oranges...

Living in Japan where English books (before the value of the dollar decreased anyway) are expensive, I am always skeptical of buying brand new stuff in the book store. But Infected looked so good I broke down and bought it. I wasn't disappointed. Only now every time I eat oranges I get a little bit sick looking at the skin. Thanks for the good story, and keep up the good work (on a side note, I was just about to leave a book store on a recent trip to the States when I noticed a book called Contagious. I nearly yelped with joy realizing it was the sequel to Infected. I can't wait to read it!).

Infected

A new fan from the other side of the Atlantic has arrived! that's me, of course. well, all I have to say about "Infected" is that I really loved it and I read it in 5 days, and have books with 300 pages which took me about a week or so to finish them. I'm not a compulsive reader but the quality of "Infected" made me start to find other novels published in Portugal(where I am from). I haven't found them yet, but I won't quit. sorry about my English, I'm good but not great.

is the sequel to Infected.

is the sequel to Infected. And Pandemic will be the 3rd book in the series. Just found out tonite, actually, that Scott is working on having a screenplay written so that Infected CAN be made into a movie. The FDO says it will be done! wow leveling guide | watch satellite tv on pc

So why couldn't I find it in the San Fransico Airport?

Sigler put me through a crazy experience. It is I am not afraid to admit, the first book that made me cringe a little and went "WHY THE F**K WOULD YOU DO THAT?! NO! NO!" (people that read the book would know what I'm talking about when Perry killed you know who). After that, I powered through Contagious and well, just as well, was put through continuos mind blasting sessions. HAIL SIGLER! (omg rhymes with hitler...) There is no such thing as retreat... only advance in another direction

This book was very, very, very, very.......

Amazing, a suspense, addictive, fantastic! the best book i've read in my 14 years and trust me i've read 100 of books so far! Love Perry his so funny but yet....horrifying! :D i made some of my friends read some of the pages of the book and they thought it was gruesome and disgusting( since i show them the part where he cuts of his twigs and berries!) they stop reading the sentences after that. but i read both infected and contagious. Scott Sigler THANK YOU for creating this book! If only both these books were a movie......damn if it was people would Sh** in their seats!

I was waiting for more nocturnal Patiently .....mostly like any junkie waiting for his next fix. when I decided a rerun would be better than no FDO at all. My second listen to infected was better than the first. You a re a master Scott I missed a whole lot of stuff the first time around, I was itching from the first minute. Now I just finished Nocturnal 32 and it was great too. I appreciate the difficult times you have been going through and thank you for any content you have managed to get out at all. But I need more.... more!! just finished chapter 63 of infected and NEEEED the rest. Is there a place where I can download the whole Infected audiobook?

Infected

When is the new chapters coming to Podiobooks.com? Oh the itch for more is killing me...

Awesome book

Infected was one of the most addicting books I have ever read. Scott Sigler really out did himself on this book. The concept of the triangle infection was absolutely captivating.

I started this book one night, read three chapters, dreamt about it all night and then couldn't stop thinking about it until it was done.  CAN NOT WAIT for Contagious!!!!  I'm making a paperchain to count down the days!!!Surprised

horRor gudness

I just finished the book, literally two minutes ago. I usually watch horror movies and don't read that many horror books, mostly mafia books. I have to say that the reviews left me wondering so much that I had to read it. I bought it Tuesday and finished it today, Friday. What a great read. From beginning to end, this book kept me wondering just how things would progress. I was surprised by how logical the path of madness was for Perry Dawsey. I want to know more about the other creatures Dew saw. I'm glad to see that there will be another book for this fantastic and horrifying story. From one SF kid to another: Well done Scott. :P

Dude this book was

Dude this book was AWESOME!!!!!!!- it rocked so hardcore- i got it as an unproofed version and it was probobly one of the best books that i have ever read. it was massivly graffic yes but absolutly awesome. great man great -----write another!!!!!!!

INFECTED is a cruel, powerful, thrilling and easily believable rollercoaster ride. It's absolutely fantastic; I eagerly await CONTAGIOUS.

Anger subsiding

This book was addictive. I couldn't put it down, I finished it just as I was going to bed... though towards the end, I thought I might also go nuts and hurt someone. Thank god there will be a sequel.

Fan-freakin-tastic!

Just finished reading Infected - read it in 3 days. Might not be impressive to most, but for a mom with two kids under 5...an incredible feat! Great writing, funny, and believable. Loved the character detail and Perry was a blast...I hope some of his sanity comes back in the next story though...the voice of his daddy was getting a bit annoying. Thanks for opening my eyes to your work, and your site. I'm looking forward to discovering more great stories here. Congrats on MAJOR success!
