This story originally ran on Mur Lafferty's "Stories of the Third Wave" fiction podcast. I wanted to get it in our feed for the Junkies who do not listen to Mur's awesome stuff. THE TORPEDO is a humerous take on some conventions of the superhero genre. I originally made this story to help promote Mur's book "Playing for Keeps," but liked the results so much I though you might like to hear it. In other words, I thought it was funny as fuck. Enjoy.

Wow, I can't believe it's been that long since this came out.
No wonder there's so many people who haven't heard it. It's the only short story that isn't posted over at Podiobooks.com. Scott's been busting ass on novels, anthologies, & novellas so there hasn't been anything to go into a Bloodcast Season Three besides this one.

This story actually made the drive home too short!
I turned this podcast on about halfway through my commute. This story had me laughing so hard that I was home before I knew it, and before the end of the story. I had to sit and finish it in the driveway. The last time anything coming out of the speakers of my car had me laughing like that was Fayed's stoic denial of Don Pine's delirious rant midway through the Rookie.
It always amazes me how well you change gears from creepy to hilarious. I would be happy to see more of the ill-fated Torpedo in the future!
