The Grey Lady gets nailedYou did it, Junkies! You put this scrawny walking cadaver on the New York Times Muthafucking Hardcover Fiction Bestseller list!

That's right, in the first week of release, CONTAGIOUS hit #33. The hardcover fiction list is like the Super Bowl of bestseller lists, it's the big-time, and even #33 is a pretty damn big accomplishment.

From this moment on, and for the rest of my life, I get to say "New York Times Bestselling Author Scott Sigler." Granted, I'm used to hearing "will the defendant please rise" and this is way, way better.

This is all you guys. Thanks for your constant support, and thanks for rallying around a strong opening weekend for CONTAGIOUS. Next novel out, our goal will be to crack the top 15, but for now, nailing the Grey Lady feels just fiiiiiiine.

Earthcore/Ancestor sequels FYI

Scott mentioned in Phoenix that he's not in a hurry to write the sequels to either of these books. Reason being, Crown has a five year option on re-printing the originals. If they do, stuff will get re-written. He doesn't want to have to re-write double the amount of material. I figure there's going to be all sorts of tid bits like this coming out throughout the tour, so here's one of them ;)

Glad I could help you out a little. Is there a special significance to the top 15? Usually it's top ten when referring to lists and such, but I typically ignore critics, bestseller lists etc. so I don't have a clue if the NYT list is different somehow.

Amazon.com, for example has a dedicated page to the NYT Best Seller's list but it only covers the top 15 books. Also Entertainment Weekly magazine reports the top 15 in each issue. Often times, the regurgitation of this top 15 list is what a large segment of the reading public looks to in order to find something new to read. So the level of expsoure expands exponentially if you can make it into the top 15.
