IN THIS EPISODE:
Our critic of Jerry Springer is in seriously bad shape. The hunt is on for Clan Jewell, another power shift shakes up the playing field, and the infected start flocking to lil' Chelsea. Thirty-eight minutes of pure story.

Hooray!!!
On the BSG thing
I had started to watch it pretty much near the end (started at the marathon before the final ten episodes), but it did seem like they had a lot of religious and metaphysical stuff involved the whole time, so their using God to explain stuff didn't bother me as much. Hell, I thought they were going to leave a lot more stuff open then they did, and have things further explored with Caprica (which looks like it might be more pure sci-fi).
Oh, aweseome episode, by the way. Can't wait to see the confrontation next episode.

Another BSG comment
They might have stepped around the hand waving had they explored a bit more into the planet builder concept - I thought they were riffing off of the RAMA trilogy by Arthur C Clark about the universe being a big kind of experiment - with a "god" being a sci-fi theme. But there is a follow up series - maybe they will get down to the nitty gritty in that.
Amazon is taking ages with the book! Going to order from the states. Thanks for the tight scripting FDO! How would you have tied it up? When you take over make them redo it!
Pain is the teacher and fear is the key.
BSG and kissing soldiers...
why, hello Scott. I won't pretend that I watch BSG regularely (cause I don't) but that pretty much sounds like the story of most fantasy stories out there. People just don't have imaginations any more, not counting TRUE genious's like you, of course. On the episode, I really like the attack on the checkpoint because it really brings out the true desparity of the triangles situations, and the Orbital uses this desparity to more enforce it's control on the infected. The desparity makes the infected more coldly efficient, taking down soldiers with no trace of the majority of their numbers. I truly applaud the enginuity of the Orbital, or it's creators.

BSG Ending was horrible. I
BSG Ending was horrible.
I was thrilled to hear you articulate what I have been trying to tell my friends since seeing it. Lazy storytelling at its worst. No idea how to wrap uo the 30,000 questions you brought up? Easy: "It's God!" Those writers need to be thinking about the ending long before they start writing all the ooey-gooey metaphysical crap in the first place. It was a BS ending to a great show, thanks for that rant, really appreciated it!
Don't make me your sketch pad
What got me was the concept they had no idea what story they were telling, made it up as they went along, wrote in dozens of plotlines they couldn't finish (Rosalyn's crusade, anyone?), yet some people are still raving about the "satisfying conclusion." Give mea break.
It's not just that it's lazy storytelling, it's the advertising -- "all questions will be answered.," etc., and pretending they knew exactly where the story was going. If you don't know where the story is going, admit it, so I can better choose how to spend my rare entertainment time.
When I recorded NOCTURNAL, I told all of you from square one this was a first draft, and I wasn't sure where it was going (even though I knew the end scene). DO NOT BULLSHIT YOUR FANS. If they had come out and said they were making up a poorly plotted fantasy/magic adventure story, just without the dwarves and elves, then I wouldn't have watched.
There was a phrase by a band Type O Negative that said: "Don't mistake a lack of talent for genius." While the show was brilliant and I loved most of the episodes, and will definitely watch again, don't mistake an ambiguous, lazy ending that punks out the fans as "genius."
We deserved better for all the time we put in.
thanks
lol thanks alot ^-^ i love it, its meh favorite one

I'm not gonna go into Ayn Rand...
You so kewl when pissed-off :)
God Scott, I love it when you get pissed-off. Something else about some writers that drives me crazy is the sloppy, ooey-gooey romance like in Atlas Shruggs by Ayn Rand. OMG! Political thing is excellent, but that sloppy over-done/dramatic romantic thing was enough to make me get the chicken sissors! Thank God you don't get into that scooby-doo romantic thing in your books!
