This is a sports/scifi story co-written with Matt Wallace (the most dangerous man in podcast fiction). We think we're the first to combine far-future aliens and hardcore MMA action. And if we're not the first, best to just say we are, or I'll sic Wallace on your punk ass. I do Round One, then Matt will provide Round Two with his character, and we'll trade off until the blood-splattering main event in the octagon of the far future. Enjoy! |

It's a non-issue, but thanks for pointing it out. I can write about a character going to Disneyland and riding the rides, I can write a story about a character visiting the Playboy Mansion or driving a Ford, etc.
Besides, this story isn't based on the UFC octagon, it's based on an earlier use of the shape as a fighting arnea -- the original "Octagon" was a 1980 movie starring none other than Mister Awesome himself, Chuck Norris.
