Pub crawl in Seattle?

Working on Seattle, all cities

scottsigler's picture
The Barnes & Noble in Seattle is helping me find the ideal spot for the Seattle pub crawl. I said "I don't want no high-falootin place!" Look, if I spill my beer - repeatedly - I don't want to get thrown out. I also like a place where I can pass out on the bar for 2-3 hours, wake up and have at it some more. That tolerance denotes a certain "dive bar" quality that you just don't find out toursit brochures ...

There will be bars that meet that requirement.. Only Bellevue bars post the number of drinks per hour you can spill on their websitesWink. That being said.. Hard to imagine that any establishment respectable or otherwise would turn away "THE Dark Overlord (future)" and this entourage.

NYC Baby!

Nuchtchas's picture

Not only will I be at the NYC signing, but I made sure to mark it on my calendar and list it as a personal day! So no one is going to be allowed to book me that day lol.
Also, I normally host a game on wednesdays, but for you, I will skip a week, I better be able to bring a pair of chicken scissors for signage.

Logic dictates ...

scottsigler's picture

That you bring the gamers with you to the bookstore. Seems to be a no-brainer, eh?

I am ready to throw a tantrum!

Nuchtchas's picture
One of my customers has booked me for April 9th!!!!!!  In FL! Of all places!  I am so mad but I can't not go, it is not just that day but 20 days of work I would be refusing by my highest paying customer.  I seriously want to kill someone, especially because I had a group ready to go with me!

Call in sick

scottsigler's picture
come on, don't let a stupid thing like business get in the way! Ready to channel Nancy Reagan? "JUST SAY NO!"

Maybe I am sick.....

Nuchtchas's picture
I am here trying to figure out how I can fly to LA to make the LA signing the week before... cash in all my miles if they will let me... doesn't look hopeful

Don't think it works that way

Nuchtchas's picture
Freelancing hurts sometimes, calling in sick for this also means losing those 20 days.  And the big chunk of my spring income.  I leave the sunday, come back the thursday, the book signing is on a wednesday.  Not only would I have to give up those days but since the rest of the days hinge on those days... I am sunk :(

I wish

Nuchtchas's picture

It is an online game that I host, none of the gamers are in any of your cities... though one might, I will send her ass down to the Seattle event.

SAN FRANCISCO!!

PJ Firefly's picture
I can't wait to see ya in SF. I will be there and ready for some drinking. Any idea where is the pub crawl going to go??

No pub crawl locale yet

scottsigler's picture

I thought the party was at your place ... me and 50 Junkies, can we crash?

Haven't found a spot yet, need something on Valencia.

50 junkies in my lil' apt...

PJ Firefly's picture

sounds like fun but...I dont' think so. That will be fun to party in the Mission though. Many bars to chose from.

Seriously though I have a copy of all your books (Well I'm waiting on infected) for you to sign so bring your pens!!!!!!!

Looking forward to Houston!

Scott, I'm so glad that we won the last city and can't wait to meet you! I have never been to a bookstore though when an author is there. Any insight on what we can expect?

New York minion

Will be getting out of work at 5:30pm so have plenty of time to make signing. I will come my Future Dark Overlord. and I will not bring rockets

road trip

quill's picture
...so I've gotta figure out how to tell people I have to drive 13 hours to get to Houston because my Future Dark Overlord is going to be there... On the upside, I've got family there, so a place to crash is no problem... Original Junkie, and Sigler minion, just doing my part to Infect the world.

Merde!

Monty Grue's picture
I'll be out of town, in San Diego, on April 4th.

Much ado about nothing.

Mcarta's picture

Aw crap ...

scottsigler's picture
Great. I get support out to the NYC book reading, and it happens to be the guy who promises to put rockets in my butt. Wonderful, just wonderful ...

Visit to Oz

Ash's picture
Hey Scott, when will we have the honour of your presence down under - before you take over the rest of the world, it's probably a good idea to actually go there. Just give the word and I will start preparing an evil lair, complete with generous closet of course...

Seattle, restaurants?

Tigers Claw's picture
Scott. Lots of good places near that Barnes and Nobel. Pick a place dude! i owe you a scotch. Palomino is fairly big, how many are gonna be there? Jazz Alley.. Dunno who's gonna be playing. DragonFish - Pacific fusion food. Tigers Claw **FREE TIBET** now with the purchase of a 24 fountain drink Http://LanceHirakawa.blogspot.com

Seattle - Rock On!

ejh25's picture
As an Original Junkie living in Seattle, I'll be there. I wouldn't care if an Army of rocktopi were between me and that B&N. While I don't want to be seen as questioning my future dark overlord, Barnes and Nobles #2957? Dude, I don't memorize B&N store numbers. A handy Google search told me that store number #2957 is located at 600 Pine Street in Seattle. For us locals, that'd be a little place we like to call "downtown". -e

Good point! I'll make the change

scottsigler's picture
Nice work, Junkie. You shall be among the last to die.

Florida

merlik's picture
So is Florida not good enough for you, fine...see if I give you access to the nuke silos down here in my back yard. Congrats on the book release, can't wait to read it.

It's only a 10hr drive to Houston

tsolo888's picture
Where is you dedication? :) I made the trip several times in an old Pontiac Sunbird (actually it wasn't that old at the time, its old now) when I was in collage. Tsolo888 - Out "Don't be surprised one day if the person you pissed off on the net shows up on your front door step"

10 hours? That ain't even a thang

scottsigler's picture
Load up the truck and make the trip, man. 10 hours? Nothing. Peanuts.

you were in COLLAGE??

Heh, just seeing if you were paying attention.

tsolo888's picture
My spelling ability is why I went into IT, usually the spelling is taken care of for me by the computer, its words like collage/college that get me. That is also why I prefer to speak to people in person. Thanks for pointing it out for me though, now your on my list, how do you spell your name? :) Just in case my tone does not come through, I'm kidding, another reason I prefer talking in person. Tsolo888 - Out "Don't be surprised one day if the person you pissed off on the net shows up on your front door step"

i here ya (or rather read ya)

treed's picture
just teasing ya goofs like that are common, especially if most of your communication is in person i spell check if i am not sure of a spelling, but then that doesn't catch that type of typo * Murder at Avedon Hill - http://www.pgholyfield.com/maah/ * Numbers are the keys that unlock the universe...

I remember a time...

SynapticJam's picture
It was back when my now 15 year old daughter was in first grade... She had a list of spelling words... some were purposefully misspelled and her job was to find the misspelled ones... We sat her down at the dining room table to work on it and went into the living room... after a bit, I noticed she wasn't at the table... we found her at the computer. She'd typed in the words exactly as shown on the paper and ran a spell check on it... I mean. What do you do? Bad girl for not doing it how they wanted you to... Good Girl for using the tools at hand.... hehehehe This missive brought to you by SynapticJam - hhhmmm... tastes like chicken

ask her

treed's picture
will she be able to use the pc on the test?? * Murder at Avedon Hill - http://www.pgholyfield.com/maah/ * Numbers are the keys that unlock the universe...

This was almost 10 years ago...

SynapticJam's picture
Of course I told her shouldn't do that, and she isn't learning how to spell correctly that way... Her spelling is good... unlike half of the kids today who speek in emoticons and abbreviated words... This missive brought to you by SynapticJam - hhhmmm... tastes like chicken

i hear ya

In the Calendar

Gatorrock's picture
Well I've just updated my calendar and will have my friends coming. Oh we are going to have fun with you that weekend in Houston... And more importantly I now know what week I CANNOT schedule my PhD defense! (sorry Sigler the Dynamo are out of town that weekend- so we'll hit another sport if possible...) And also very interesting- this book signing will be a special event! The store will stay open late just for you!

So glad you'll be there!

scottsigler's picture
SWEET! Screw your thesis, at least you have your priorities straight. No soccer? CRAP!

A UK visit?

StephenK's picture
That would be fantastic. I can get there a lot easier. I owe you a keg of beer :)

hold on just one minute.

freakazoid101's picture
I'm on holiday between the 21st March and 14th April, which means I may be able to come. That is, if I can somehow find other time to revise for my A-levels. It would be freaking awesome if you did the UK. Like the Edinburgh book festival. I would come up for that. Or even better, the Birmingham Artsfest. *~* My thoughts this week: Waiting is an essential part of junkie life. John Barrowman has amazing teeth and he hugs well good. I love him so much. What a waste.

UK in July, maybe

scottsigler's picture
Working on hitting UK in July, when the book comes out. When are those events you listed?

not just england!!!

jtswambo's picture
if you do come to the uk make sure its not just england, there is 3 and a half countries in GB (irland - like the irish not all there). try and hit all the city caps? 'lemings do not like cliffs'

uk dates

freakazoid101's picture
Awesome. Artsfest is in September and the actual Birmingham book festival is october to november. Edinburgh international book festival is 9-25th august this year. (if possible avoid the week 11-17th August as I get my results and my entire life depends on me being in birmingham that week). I went 2 years ago and it was amazing. I went into entire stalker mode when I met all my favourite authors. *~* My thoughts this week: Waiting is an essential part of junkie life. John Barrowman has amazing teeth and he hugs well good. I love him so much. What a waste.

other books

I typed in 'Scott Sigler' at the Facebook 'iread' application and found some interesting books. I am impressed with how you are diversifying. "Key issues facing adult incontinence manufacturers today. (includes related information): An article from: Nonwovens Industry Scott Sigler " Perhaps you are scaring the crap out of people and want them to be prepared - very admirable!

Depends, baby, that's the money shot!

scottsigler's picture
You thought Pookie was crazy, but you were wrong.

Seattle

Heero2020's picture
Okay Sig. It's about time we met, so I'm gonna do my damnedest to get up to Seattle to see you, since my vote for Portland didn't seem to matter :P All right Scott, its about time we got this name thing figured out.... --Scott Who among you, if your son asked for a loaf would give him a stone?

Get there.

scottsigler's picture
Dude, come on. there is no "try." There is only "do." Get there.
