The PUV James Keeling: a.k.a., The Crypt, designed by Arturo AlamillaThe PUV James Keeling: a.k.a., The Crypt, designed by Arturo AlamillaOh snap-dilly-icious, take a gander at the winner of the Design the PUV James Keeling contest!

If you haven't listened to THE CRYPT podiobook, click here to see the episodes in order.

The Terran! The ship at left was designed by Arturo Alamilla, Junkie name "The Terran" (and Arturo, if you're out there, get back to me!) Yes, in typical Siglerism fashion, we can't reach the guy who won the damn thing ...

The Keeling, also known as "The Crypt," will be based on this design. To quote my favorite movie, Pumpkinhead, "there's some things I gotta do to it, before it's of any use to ya." We need to modify the tail section and do some other key changes before it's ready for combat (click on the "read more" tag below to see the other ships featured in THE CRYPT).

Watch out for this fucker ...: This ship was designed by Gonzalo Golpe.Watch out for this fucker ...: This ship was designed by Gonzalo Golpe.I fell in love with so many designs in this contest. There was just a sickening display of talent and creativity. Arturo's concept was closest to the needs of the story. However, some designs were so unique that I'm writing them into the three-season plot. Gonzalo Golpe's very different ship was way off my original spec, but after he explained his vision, I almost made this the winner. Then the evil part of my brain thought about how it could fit into the plot, and I gave Gonzalo's amazing design a completely new purpose in life. Gonzalo is on a completely different level, so go check out his website for some serious visual smack.

Best to run away ...: Dan Spears' design will be a fighterBest to run away ...: Dan Spears' design will be a fighterAlso, I simply couldn't pass up the nasty piece of death-dealing designed by Dan Spears. If you like spaceships, check out Dan's Website. He's sick, this guy, and there is more eye candy there than a convention hall that double-booked Victoria's Secret Corporate Party and the National "Shot Girls" Convention.

Finally, we had a major problem getting all the pictures off of the Pixish.com site before that site shut down. I have one more design I simply have to find. If you designed a ship that sort of looked like an unfolding planet, with some nasty, spikey stuff inside, please email it to scott@scottsigler.net as soon as you can.

Junkies, howdy-ho. I'm still in Michigan handling famliy biz-nass. I thought I'd try out my portable recording rig and see if it measured up to your listening standards. My guinea pig? Another CRYPT story, this time the sad tale of Yolanda Smith. When you is a ho, the pimp always wins. This is your first peek inside the PUV James Keeling. Just a peek, mind you, the FDO™ wouldn't want to hike up his skirt and show you the good stuff all at once.

Tabitha Smith This episode of THE CRYPT was co-written by Tabitha "Tabz" Smith, world-famous for her work on Buffy Between the Lines. If you're a Buffy fan, you simply must check out this podcast. Turns out Tabz can kick out some semi-twisted concepts of her own, as evidenced by this story.

THE CRYPT: Engineer B.W. Crites

How can you have a starship without a chief engineer? You just can't, it's against the rules of science fiction. Therefore, I give you the story of B.W. Crites, a brilliant engineer who has slung a few too many colorful phrases at a few too many officers. Originated by author Greg Crites and edited/modified by the FDO™, this story should give you an idea of what Captain Travis Ellis will be up against when he orders "full speed ahead."

Greg CritesThe episode of THE CRYPT was co-authored with Greg Crites. Author of DUNKIN, THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and my favorite book of his, CRUSADE, Crites is a humorous artist that dabbles in foul epithets the way Picasso dabbled in oils. He is probably my favorite podcast author to listen to, and if you haven't checked out his stuff, you are an ingrate. HAR!

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA'S Aaron Douglas (the awesome Chief Tyrol) introduces this episode, and that rules. Met him in person, he's a very cool cat.

IN THIS EPISODE:
Death surrounds some people, follows them, shadows their every move. For Private Pippa Remic, it's is something she just can't seem to escape. You can't run really run from death when you are the person that always seems to dish it out -- whether you want to, or not.

Andy RemicThe episode of THE CRYPT was co-authored with Andy Remic, author of SPIRAL, WAR MACHINE and more.  Remic's work is violent and over-the-top. He describes it as "kick-ass science fiction" and that's pretty damn accurate. If you're interested in Remic's books, they are conveniently listed on the rightside of this post.
