INFECTED
Which hardcover do you want in December?
Screenwriter named for INFECTED
Eric Bernt: He is now officially infected ...Junkies, Rogue Pictures and Random House Films have chosen a screenwriter for the INFECTED movie. I give you Eric Bernt, a seasoned vet of the movie-making wars (he lost a leg in '86, but the Stan Winston FX team patched it back on, so he's all better). Eric wrote the screenplays for Virtuosity as well as movie adaptations for The Hitcher and The Echo, which will be released sometime in 2009.
I had a chance to talk to Eric on the phone, and I have to admit he seems like a genuinely good cat. He really gets the INFECTED story and the concepts behind it, and he exudes palpable excitement in making the most whoop-ass screenplay he can.
Eric even had a shout-out for all y'all Junkies: "I want all fans of Scott to know that I am committed to bringing an incredibly scary, intense version of INFECTED to the big screen. You will not be disappointed."
Bold talk, Mister Bernt, not that General Siglerisimo would ever swing around a bloated ego of his own ...
This is a big step, folks. Once the screenplay is done, Rogue/Random House goes after directors. From there, just the tiny matter of scrounging up some $20 million in loose change to fund it, and we're in the movie-making biz!
WHEN WILL IT BE IN THEATRES?
I know you're going to ask that, and the answer is we don't have any idea. If all goes well, we could see something in 2010. If all goes the opposite of well, it will never get made. I'm now raising my odds of seeing INFECTED in thatres from 50/50 to 60/40, and that ain't bad.

Here it is Junkies, forty-seven minutes of pure adrenaline, the second-to-last episode of INFECTED. As Conan once said, "Enough Talk!" Click the link and get busy.
FDO™ Note: In a truly amazing "sometimes I amaze even myself" moment of TechTardedness, I left out Chapters 73-76. That's right, I left them out. When I proofed the episode in the recording software, my eyes counted 77-88 all in nice sequential order, and my brain didn't throw up the "hey, fuck-o!" alert that I missed the first four chapters. Well, now the link has been corrected and gives you the full 56-minute, 14-chapter episode).

WARNING: NO SPOILERS
If you buy this (and I thank you if you do), do NOT post any information about CONTAGIOUS in forums anywhere, including here. Sure, you can post stuff like "Oh my God, the FDO™ just gets better all the times" and "Oh my God, the FDO™ just surpassed Brad Pitt as the Sexiest Dude on the Planet," but don't spoil the plot for those who can't pick up a copy. I want everyone to experience this bee-yotch for themselves ... yeah, it's just that good.
Hutchinsss, Triangles, Blunt and some monster thing
Siglerism perverts Sesame StreetHoly crap is this thing funny. It seems the FDO™ has now peverted that holiest of holy childhood memories, Sesame Street. And who do we have to thank for this hilarity?
Hutchinssss ...
This one has enough trouble in it to almost qualify for a Greg Crites' novel. James Blunt needs to get his ass whipped, granted, but this is some awesome shit.
And what is that red thing? Screw that, give me Cookie Monster, or give me death.

Made of awesome: Ninja talks to Junkies
Ninja will kill you with this book: Look for the Ninja Handbook in stores September 9Click here to play The Ninja's shout-out to Junkies
If you guys haven't seen Ask a Ninja, you are missing out on one of the best things the internet ever kicked out. The show is absolutely brilliant and will make you laugh your ass off.
What's more, Ask a Ninja is part of the reason I have a book deal. When the big publishers were wondering if this "podcasting fad" had any legs, they were looking at shows like Ask a Ninja and seeing the insane download numbers online media can create. All the J.C. Hutchins, Scott Siglers, Seth Harwoods and everyone else who's dancing with the big publishers need to tip their hats to these guys for paving the way and showing just how big online media can get.
I'm buying this book tomorrow. I will definitely use it to kill someone.
And for those of you who know THE ROOKIE, you know that Kracken's linebacker John Tweedy quotes the Ninja when he meets opposing players. Like you need more of a reason than that?
