Contagious is a thriller / science fiction novel by American author Scott Sigler, and the sequel to Infected. Sigler has stated that the release date of Contagious will be April 1, 2009 (exactly one year after the print release of Infected). While he has implied that the novel will be podcasted (as his ability to continue free podcasts of his novels was a condition of his publishing deal with Crown) Sigler has not yet released any details about when the podcasts will begin, and whether or not they will (as with the new recording of Infected) begin before the book's print release.

The book is still in pre-draft form as of April 2008 -- Sigler mentioned in a podcast that he is currently finalizing a plot outline for the novel, and hinted at its plot by mentioning that he is lining up plot "advisors" including including members of the US armed services, a PHD candidate in Biology, and "someone who works with satellites" (whose actual job is apparently too sensitive to be revealed). He also stated that he is seeking an expert on quantum entanglement and communication.
