Quentin Barnes is a fictional character in Scott Sigler’s novel The Rookie. As one of the three quarterbacks playing for the Ionath Krakens, he is an important character in the story development.

Quentin is an orphan who grew up in a mining community in the segregated and racist purist nation. Serving out a sentence for an honor crime, he was paying off his family debt when he was discovered.

Barnes is a star quarterback for the Micovi Raiders, a Tier three team in the "Galactic Football League". He is picked up for the Tier 2 team Ionath Krakens, where he competes with fellow QB Donald Pine for the starting quarterback position.
