Sean Robertson is an ancillary character in the novel Nocturnal by author Scott Sigler. The character is initially introduced in episode 4 of the audio version of Nocturnal.
[edit] Character Background
Sean Robertson is the Sub Chief of Police for the San Francisco Police Department. In episode 4, he is in attendance at the debrief of SFPD Homicide Detectives "Pookie" Chang and Bryan Clauser on "Piss Man" cases, along with Chief Amy Zou. He and Chief Zou seem to share some little known knowledge about these symbols as they consider taking Pookie and Bryan off the cases, however it is unclear what the connection is at this point in the story.
In episode 4, Robertson receives an email that confirms the symbols from the murder scenes were searched via the FBI's Symbols Analysis Database (SAD). After calling John "The Black Mr. Burns" Smith and confirming it was Pookie that made the inquiry, Robertson makes a call from his cell phone to an undetermined person to tip them off about the research being done on the symbols.
[edit] Attributes
[edit] Name
The author refers to this character with only the full name of Sean Robertson, there are no known nicknames.
[edit] Outward Appearance
Sub Chief Robertson is described as being in his early forties wearing trendy narrow black glasses. He is also described as being stoic, rarely looking mad or happy, and being “everyone’s worst nightmare at the poker table.”
[edit] Personality
From the minimal information given of Sub Chief Robertson, he appears to be a no nonsense type of person. He also appears to be a good judge of character as he is proven correct about his assesment of "Pookie" and Bryan’s tenaciousness on researching a case.
